Job summary:


            The Facilities Manager will oversee all building-related activities. Being responsible to ensure all infrastructure and facilities are safe and functioning in proper working order.

Qualifications:


Required:



  • Bachelor’s Degree in facility management, engineering, business administration or relevant field or three (3) years of experience as facilities manager or relevant position

  • Well-versed in facilities management best practices

  • Experience developing and implementing comprehensive plans

  • Ability to:

    • Pass a drug screening and State of Alaska background check

    • Qualify for SFA commercial automobile insurance




Preferred:



  • Excellent leadership skills with demonstrated ability to effectively lead a team



Skills required:



  • Knowledge of basic project management including budgeting and expensing principles

  • Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills

  • Punctuality and consistent reliability in reporting to work

  • Ability to:

    • Lead a team of custodial and facilities maintenance professionals

    • Represent the mission and values of Set Free Alaska to the staff and community

    • Make leadership decisions within the scope of responsibilities as set forth in Set Free Alaska’s policies and procedures



  • Basic computer skills and fluid use of communication tools



Job responsibilities:



  • Oversee and provide supervision for external contractors working on SFA projects

  • Hire, evaluate and supervise staff including, but not limited to: performance monitoring, assistance in developing growth goals, training…

  • Manage the upkeep of facilities, equipment and supplies while meeting health and safety standards

    • Including assisting with hands-on support for projects



  • Provide oversight of facility projects, including acquiring and managing bids and collaborating with contractors and vendors

  • Provide oversight of Safety Drills agency wide and ensure they are completed on time

  • Inspect buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations

  • Review facility expenses (utility consumption, supplies) and strive to minimize costs while maintaining excellent and safe facilities

  • Manage activities like parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security, etc.

  • Provide health and safety guidance in compliance with state and CARF regulations

  • Facilitate, conduct, and document Safety Committee meetings

  • Schedule and participate in the facilities on-call rotation

  • Travel to various Set Free facilities (up to 35% travel expectation)
