Job Description - Facility Security Coordinator

Job Summary

The Facility Security Coordinator is responsible for overseeing cargo screening operations and ensuring compliance with all applicable security regulations and screening procedures. This role manages training records, conducts audits and inspections, monitors screening activities, maintains documentation, and supports quality assurance efforts to ensure operational integrity and regulatory compliance. The position requires strong leadership, administrative, auditing, and communication skills, along with the ability to identify process improvements and maintain security standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure all cargo screening personnel complete required initial and recurring training.
  • Maintain training records and provide documentation when required.
  • Conduct assessments and prepare reports regarding screening issues, incidents, and resolutions.
  • Review daily cargo screening logs for accuracy and completeness.
  • Verify cargo screening records against shipping documentation.
  • Monitor screening activities to ensure compliance with operational requirements.
  • Review and monitor CCTV footage of cargo screening operations.
  • Conduct routine and unannounced audits and inspections of screening areas.
  • Coordinate monthly compliance audits and maintain audit documentation.
  • Provide operational oversight during equipment outages or system failures.
  • Maintain compliance with security policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiency.
  • Support quality assurance, safety, and compliance initiatives.
  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and compliance concerns to leadership.

Minimum Requirements / Skills

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Experience in auditing, compliance, quality assurance, safety programs, or security operations preferred.
  • Leadership experience and ability to supervise operational activities.
  • Strong attention to detail and record-keeping abilities.
  • Ability to conduct inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Experience with security procedures and regulatory requirements preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Innovative thinking and process improvement mindset.
