Family Housing Services Supervisor
Hours: Monday – Thursday
Status: Full Time
Reports To: FHS Program Director
Purpose:
Under the direct supervision of the FHS Director, the FHS Housing Supervisor provides oversight of the FHS Housing Programs and assists with the supervision of the case managers providing services to youth, families and individuals.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
Provide direction and supervision to program staff, and provide hands-on assistance, to assist them, in carrying out their assigned duties with the housing programs.
Responsible for supervising the entire rental assistance process with staff engagement with clients, including collection of required documents, submission of rental assistance application, client follow-up, and disbursement of funds
Prepare employee goals, to improve employee development and quality of care to customers, to include consumers, peers, and external community contacts.
Meet/Call clients who are having issues with their Case Manager.
Provide training on files, procedures, and service requests, for all new hires and direct reports.
Review reports compliance audits to ensure that all data is entered in true time (daily).
Attend various community meetings to support the housing problem solving and progressive engagement motto.
Verifies all housing rental requests are correct, compliant and free from errors.
Maintains a safe and positive community relationship, which includes public relations with neighbors and other providers.
Presents program information to community agencies regarding eligibility requirements.
Maintain a safe and positive community relationship, by working closely with referral services to communicate program needs and philosophy.
Meets regularly with the Program Director to monitor program content, community referrals, staffing issues, and overall planning and implementation of programs.
Will share the on-call supervisor responsibilities with the program director and housing supervisor. Will report to the facility, if necessary, when an emergency arises.
Other duties, as may be assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of local social service agencies and programs, as they pertain to the local homeless or at-risk youth and family population.
Knowledge of applicable statutes and regulations
Knowledge of social service work, interviewing/referral techniques
Experience and understanding of homeless issues
Understand and follow complex instructions and procedures. Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action
Must communicate effectively with people from a variety of social, cultural, and economic populations.
Ability to maintain order and exercise appropriate judgment in crisis situations.
Must be flexible and be able to adjust to shifting priorities.
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with consumers, fellow employees, other agencies, and the public
Organize work schedule and manage time
Understand and follow all agency policies and procedures
Ability to work flexible hours, as required by case load
Ability to perform accurate mathematical equations to calculate clients rent and utility costs, and request funding to pay those bills.
Professional competence in creating databases and working effectively using Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access.
Bachelor's degree in social work or High School Diploma with 4 years-experience, substantially equivalent to a bachelor's degree, or combination of education and experience.
Professional experience, as required by education
Must have a valid NV driver's license and clean DMV record.
Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
