Location:

Remote within Washington State, with flexibility to work from the Redmond-area office when desired. Because this position involves court appearances and client meetings, candidates must be able to attend in-person proceedings when required.

Note:

Candidates must be actively licensed to practice law in Washington and have at least 2+ years of family law experience. Attorneys who can independently manage a caseload are strongly encouraged to apply. An established caseload or portable business is a plus, not a requirement.

Job Description

• Independently manage a family law caseload from initial consultation through resolution.
• Prepare for and appear at hearings, motions, mediations, settlement conferences, and trials.
• Draft substantive motions, pleadings, declarations, discovery requests, responses, and other legal documents.
• Handle complex financial disclosures and property division issues in divorce matters.
• Advocate for clients in child custody, parenting plan, child support, spousal support, and domestic violence matters.
• Develop practical litigation and settlement strategies based on each client's goals.
• Communicate directly with clients and provide clear, thoughtful guidance throughout emotionally challenging matters.
• Negotiate effectively with opposing counsel while remaining prepared to litigate when necessary.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to deliver excellent client service.

Qualifications

• Active Washington State Bar license required.
• 2+ years of family law experience required.
• Experience independently managing family law matters.
• Courtroom, hearing, motion practice, discovery, and legal drafting experience.
• Strong client communication, negotiation, writing, and advocacy skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
• Professional judgment and confidence interacting directly with clients and appearing in court.
• Established caseload or portable business preferred.

• Salary bands (ONLY IF ATTORNEY ROLE):

• 2 to 4 years: $120K to $135K

• 5 to 7 years: $135K to $150K

• 8+ years / strong independent caseload: $150K to $160K

• Established portable business: Target top of range; potentially worth discussing separately with client depending on book/caseload value.
