Pay: $160,000.00 - $240,000.00 per year

Location: Irvine, CA. This is primarily an in-office opportunity for attorneys who value collaboration and connection with their team. We provide our attorneys meaningful autonomy in managing their schedules, and specific flexibility may be discussed during the interview process. This is not a fully remote position.

Note: Candidates must have an active California Bar license, current Certified Family Law Specialist (CFLS) certification, and 3+ years of substantive family law experience.

Job Description

• Independently manage an active caseload of California family law matters from strategy through resolution.
• Develop case strategies and advise clients regarding litigation, settlement options, risks, costs, and realistic outcomes.
• Prepare for and appear at hearings, trials, mediations, settlement conferences, depositions, and other proceedings.
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, declarations, briefs, discovery, settlement agreements, stipulations, and proposed orders.
• Handle contested divorce, custody, support, property division, domestic violence, and related family law matters.
• Manage discovery and coordinate with clients, paralegals, forensic accountants, investigators, experts, and other professionals.
• Prepare matters thoroughly for evidentiary hearings and trial.
• Negotiate strategically and professionally with opposing counsel.
• Communicate proactively with clients and provide clear guidance regarding complex legal and financial issues.
• Take ownership of case deadlines, workflow, billing, retainers, and overall matter progression.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support professionals to deliver efficient, high-quality representation.
• Maintain approximately 1,500 to 1,600 billable hours annually.
• Use legal research, practice-management technology, and appropriate AI tools to improve efficiency and work quality.

Qualifications

• Active California Bar license in good standing.
• Current Certified Family Law Specialist (CFLS) certification.
• 3+ years of substantive family law experience.
• Experience handling contested family law matters.
• Strong litigation, courtroom, discovery, motion, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent legal research, analysis, and writing abilities.
• Strong client communication and relationship-management skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple matters, priorities, and deadlines.
• Strong organizational and technological capabilities.
• Complex financial, high-net-worth, or high-conflict family law experience is preferred.
• PracticePanther and Lexis experience are helpful but not required.
