Family Medicine or Internal Medicine MD/DO

Action Staffing Solutions is currently hiring a Family Practice or Internal Medicine MD/DO to provide care with a state care facility in San Antonio, Tx. This is a unique and rewarding contractor position for professionals who want to make a meaningful impact while maintaining flexibility.

Position Highlights:

 

• Must be a Licensed Physician in the State of Texas


• Provides direct patient care, psychiatric assessments and treatment, face to face evaluations, responds to all emergency calls and restraints.


• Work with dually diagnosed adult patients, mental health, in a residential section, not outpatient clinic.


• Abide with agency attendance and leave policy and abide by the rules, regulations, and policies of HHSC and Facility and performs other duties as assigned.


• Will complete assigned duties in accordance with the duties assigned to permanent Physicians of the Facility.

• Physician - Active Texas Medical License from Texas Medical Board with no sanctions


• Active US Dept of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certification


• Must be credential with hospitals utilized by the Facility


• American Heart Association – approved course in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and maintain that certification while providing services at the Facility.


• Must submit to HHSC required drug test.


• Must submit to HHSC required fingerprinting.


• Must complete facility and HHSC required training.

Clinical Requirements: Full medical care for intellectually disabled long term care adult patients on campus between 8AM and 5pm M-F.



Panel: At 25 long term care adult patients on two homes. Rounds by 9AM morning report.  All annuals, quarterly documentation.  Annual team meetings as required.  Team meetings (called ISPA’s) as needed. Maintain all training requirements.  Patient volume per day is 1-2 pts.

• Two month contract with options to extend


• 40 hours/week. Monday - Friday. Schedule can be customized


• On-Call required:  Once a week at home call (5P-8A average # calls 5). One weekend a month of home call except for individuals with change in status or post ER/hospital. (Friday 5P-Monday 8A, average # calls 25).
