Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Radiology Abdominal

MR Proctogram and Rectal Cancer MRI Service including:  

• Review clinical charting and identify potential contraindications for exam


• Exam protocolling


• Obtaining consent


• Monitoring of the exam and evaluating image quality. Determine the need for modifying the exam or repeating sequences


• Exam preliminary reporting


• Participate in Multidisciplinary Pelvic Floorboard discussions

General Abdominal MR Exams:

• Assist MRSO (MR Safety Officer) in reviewing implanted device cases. This would include looking up types of implanted devices and coordinating with MRSO, MR physicists and radiologists once information about a device is obtained


• Exam Protocoling

CT Colonography:

• Review clinical charting and ensure proper patient preparation


• Exam protocolling


• Evaluation of image quality and preliminary reporting


• Contrast reaction coverage

During the selection process you may participate in an OnDemand (pre-recorded) interview that you can complete at your convenience. During the OnDemand interview, a question will appear on your screen, and you will have time to consider each question before responding. You will have the opportunity to re-record your answer to each question – Mayo Clinic will only see the final recording. The complete interview will be reviewed by a Mayo Clinic staff member and you will be notified of next steps.

New Grads will not be considered at this time.  Minimum 1-2 years of NPPA experience required.

Family Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current MN RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP.  

Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the MN State Board of Medical Practice.  

Additional Qualifications: 
Active BLS and ACLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required
