Job Description - Federal Court Social Security Disability Attorney

We are currently seeking a Social Security Disability Attorney to join our growing legal team. This role focuses on reviewing Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) decisions, identifying errors of fact or law, produce persuasive written arguments, and reviewing peer argument for submission to Federal Court.  



The ideal candidate will have strong legal writing and analytical skills, the ability to manage a high-volume caseload, and a genuine commitment to client advocacy.



Responsibilities:



  • Review extensive medical records in preparation for briefing

  • Draft pleadings, briefs, motions, replies and other submittals for Social Security claimants

  • Apply the law and argue cases before the Federal Magistrate or Federal District Court judges

  • Complete merits reviews

  • Attend Oral Arguments as needed

  • Manage deadlines and communication with clients

  • Any additional duties that arise in the course of client representation, as requested



Qualifications:



  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, New York Bar license preferred but not required

  • 1–3 years of experience in Social Security Disability law, administrative law, or appellate work preferred but not required

  • Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills

  • Strong attention to detail and time management abilities
