Field Mechanic (Heavy Equipment/Mid-Size/Truck)

Job Description:

Pay: $42-$45 an hour

Summary:

• Responsible for repairs and maintenance on large construction equipment.
• Work with mid-size construction equipment such as generators, welders, air compressors, pumps, message boards and arrow boards as well as others to inspect, repair and maintain the equipment.
• Ensure the machines continue to run safely at optimum efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Repair and maintenance on midsize equipment, including aerial lifts, forklifts, telehandlers, generators, welders, air compressors, pumps, message boards and arrow boards.
• Diagnosis and repair transmissions, engines, differentials, electrical and hydraulic components associated with heavy construction equipment in a field environment.
• Utilize a laptop computer for information and diagnostic purposes for the safe assembly and disassembly of components.
• Write and complete service reports.
• Participate in company training programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience and Qualifications:

• Two-year technical degree in diesel technology, heavy equipment mechanics, or similar preferred
• 5 years of experience preferred
• Valid CDL driver’s license preferred
• Basic welding skills desired
• Crane knowledge a plus
• Desire to take on new challenges
• Available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights and weekends
