West Penn Energy Services – Shelocta, PA Full-Time | Field & Office-Based
West Penn Energy Services is growing and looking for an experienced Field Safety Advisor to support pipeline construction operations. This position is ideal for a safety professional who thrives in the field, builds strong working relationships with crews, and is passionate about promoting a culture of safety throughout all phases of construction.
This role will maintain a strong field presence during active construction operations and transition into corporate safety support and training responsibilities during slower operational periods. The successful candidate will have hands-on pipeline construction safety experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to effectively train and mentor employees at all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities
Provide daily safety support and oversight on active pipeline construction projects
Maintain a visible field presence to reinforce safe work practices and company expectations
Conduct toolbox talks, JSAs, pre-task planning meetings, and safety briefings
Perform field inspections, safety audits, and hazard assessments
Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
Maintain accurate safety documentation, reports, and training records
Deliver safety training to both individuals and groups of up to 35 employees
Work closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, and field leadership teams
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety policies and procedures
During off-peak construction periods, assist with corporate safety functions and classroom/off-site training from the Shelocta office
Qualifications
Previous pipeline construction safety experience required
Strong understanding of construction safety standards and safe work practices
Ability to communicate effectively with field crews and management teams
Experience conducting safety training and presentations
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred
First Aid/CPR certification preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, HSE, or related field preferred
Ability to work outdoors in varying field conditions
Ability to commute to the Shelocta, PA office when not assigned to active job sites
