Responsibilities / Essential Functions
- Maintain and repair Emergency Call Devices and other Knightscope systems deployed in various locations.
- Monitor health of systems and if needed calibrate sensors, compute, radios, and power systems.
- Run diagnostics, perform firmware updates, and ensure system health.
- Provide comprehensive reports on work performed and travel time.
- Support field testing and live demonstrations by prepping, staging, and deploying Knightscope assets.
- Perform rapid troubleshooting and reconfiguration in dynamic testing environments.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment status, repairs, and system updates.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to iterate on platform designs and improve reliability.
- Manage Equipment/Parts logistics including staging, transport, and readiness for deployment.
- Help shape operational processes and safety standards as we scale.
- Operate and service company vehicles and field equipment safely and in compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Maintain current knowledge of all mandated and applicable safety training, standards, policies, and practices.
- Provide equipment and procedural training to other team members as needed.
- Execute groundwork tasks such as digging and filling holes and trenches, burying conduit and cables, and restoring the site.
- Execute tasks that may require climbing ladders up to or exceeding 28 feet, operating in uneven terrain, and sitting, standing or operating for extended periods in inclement weather.
- Other duties as assigned or necessary.
Qualifications
- Comfortable working with hardware, tools, and test equipment in the field.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; able to manage multiple systems and timelines.
- Clear communicator who can collaborate across teams and document work thoroughly and meticulously track work and document accordingly to support various client needs.
- Comfortable lifting and transporting equipment (up to 75 lbs).
- Ability to sit, stand, and climb for extended periods and operate lifts or ladders and operating at an elevated level.
- Familiarity with computer systems and software.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States is required. Certain job duties may involve access to U.S. export-controlled information.
- Required to wear and properly use all assigned safety gear and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
- The position(s) may require a Drug Screening be passed based on contract, where permitted by applicable law.
- The position(s) is contingent on a background check conducted consistent with applicable law, including the California Fair Chance Act Background Investigation.
- The position(s) require(s) a valid and Class C driver’s license.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Hourly: $30 - $45 depending on experience & Prevailing Wage as applicable
- Prevailing Wage Band: $45 - $70

Working Conditions
Environment: Work is predominantly outdoor and mobile, often requiring exposure to inclement weather, extreme temperatures, and varying field conditions. May be exposed to and work in outdoor and field environments, including extreme weather conditions, loud noise, dust, confined spaces, heights, and uneven or unstable terrain. May be exposed to highway and vehicle traffic while working on or near roadways. May involve long periods of sitting and standing, and travel to assigned territories and company facilities, even in bad weather; work outside for long periods in all seasons and weather. Required to wear all assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Frequent lifting, carrying, and transport of equipment able to lift 75 pounds; carry and operate a 28-foot, 75-pound ladder.
Hours: Field Service Technicians rarely work a standard 9-to-5. Expect to work up to 12-hour shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays and to respond to after-hours emergencies. Overnight or out-of-town travel may be required, up to a significant portion of time, based on operational needs
