Position Qualifications

Completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field; 6 mos. exp. or 6 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an intermediate level of experience in spreadsheet software. 

-Or 30 mos. exp. or 30 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an intermediate level of experience in spreadsheet software. 

-Or 12 mos. exp. as Financial Associate, 66561. 

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above. 

NOTE\: Successful completion of the Fiscal Academy may be substituted for 4 mos. of required accounting/fiscal experience referenced in this portion of the minimum qualifications.

UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS\: May be required to work long or unusual hours during peak operational periods.

What you’ll do at DBH:

Appalachian Behavioral Healthcare is seeking a detail‑oriented Financial Analyst to support patient account operations and contribute to the overall financial integrity of the facility. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate account management, timely processing of financial transactions, and effective coordination across facility departments.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:

  • Manage patient account transactions, including receipt and deposit of funds.
  • Maintain and reconcile financial records and internal accounts.
  • Process and track financial transactions such as purchase orders, transfers, vouchers, and appropriations.
  • Support inventory verification processes and assist with storeroom purchasing tasks as needed.
  • Serve as a backup to other financial and storeroom staff to maintain uninterrupted operations.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational teams during special events requiring additional support or supervision.
  • Complete all required trainings and maintain institutional certifications.
  • Promote safety by monitoring conditions, policies, and behaviors, and reporting any concerns.

This is an hourly position covered by the OCSEA/AFSCME bargaining unit (union), with a pay range of 30 on the OCSEA Pay Range Schedule. Normal working hours are Monday - Friday 8\:00AM - 4\:30 PM. This position is located in Athens County, at the Appalachian Behavioral Healthcare hospital,100 Hospital Drive, Athens Ohio 45701.

Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above, with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.
