A healthcare company is seeking a strong Financial Controller to oversee its back-office accounting and finance functions.

This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for the day-to-day accounting operation, financial reporting, cash management, and the team and processes behind them. This is a great opportunity for a strong accounting professional to break into the healthcare/SNF space - prior healthcare experience is not required.

Responsibilities

  Oversee the accounting and finance back-office functions

  Manage the monthly close and preparation of monthly financials

  
  


• 
  

  Oversee accounts payable and related processes

  
  


• 
  

  Manage cash flow, cash reporting, and day-to-day cash management

  
  


• 
  

  Oversee healthcare cost reporting and related financial requirements

  
  


• 
  

  Review account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules

  
  


• 
  

  Ensure accounting processes are accurate, timely, and well controlled

  
  


• 
  

  Manage, train, and develop accounting staff

  
  


• 
  

  Establish strong processes, workflows, and accountability across the department

  
  


• 
  

  Work closely with leadership and other departments to resolve issues and keep financial operations moving efficiently

  
  


• 
  

  Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and other financial partners as needed

  
  

Requirements

• 
  

  Strong accounting background with experience in public accounting, ideally with a large national or leading regional accounting firm

  
  


• 
  

  Experience transitioning into or working within a private-company accounting environment preferred

  
  


• 
  

  Client service or client relationship experience strongly preferred

  
  


• 
  

  Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting processes, and internal controls

  
  


• 
  

  Excellent management skills with the ability to lead both people and processes

  
  


• 
  

  High level of drive, ownership, and follow-through

  
  


• 
  

  Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  Healthcare experience is a plus, but not required
