Job Summary

Interviews patients who are uninsured/underinsured and determines which agencies will provide financial assistance with the patient's hospital and medical bills. 



Essential Functions

• Meets with patients at the bedside to collect the necessary demographic and financial information to determine federal, state or other programs the patient may qualify for. Obtains signatures on all forms required by state agencies and Atrium Health.


• Consults and educates patients on Medicaid eligibility requirements and the application process.


• Completes routine post discharge follow-up on patients not seen in the hospital. Attempts to complete interviews by phone and mail in accordance to program application deadlines.

Physical Requirements

Works a fast-paced office environment with numerous interruptions. This position requires some travel.



Education, Experience and Certifications

Bachelors Degree or 4 years related experience required.
