Description
Under direct supervision, facilitates the end-to-end execution of financial transactions for a defined set of client units by providing information and support to customers. Guides customers through processes, executes primary tasks, interacts with internal/external organizations, and reconciles accounts. Responsible for identifying inefficiencies and recommending potential solutions to clients during the financial transaction process.

Responsibilities
  • Posts detailed entries to financial records, handles routine transactions, and processes common financial transactions, including but not limited to, travel requisitions and reimbursements, purchase requisitions, internal transfers, and payments to individuals.
  • Prepares and verifies various standard financial entries for financial data processing system; reconciles report discrepancies and problems.
  • Maintains documentation of transactions and confirms completeness, accuracy, and compliance with UTHSA and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Identify issues with administrative processes that create challenges for our customers and may play an active role in implementing solutions.
  • Guides customers on the appropriate interpretation of UTHSA policies and procedures. Provides optimal business solution to customers.
  • Documents and reconciles financial documents.
  • Responsible for ensuring process follow through to completion for transactions and customer support.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.


Qualifications
  • Understands the organization's financial processes.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to be dependable and flexible in order to meet deadlines.
  • Extremely customer-focused.
  • Self-motivated, quick learner. Attention to detail, understands importance of accuracy and responsiveness.
  • Fundamental knowledge of accounting practices and agency reimbursement programs.
  • Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular field of specialization.
  • Proficiency in applicable software programs including Microsoft Office.

EDUCATION:

  • Associate's degree is required.
