Job Description
The Fitness Center Manager is responsible for the overall operation and management of the FDIC fitness centers. The FCM supervises contract personnel, oversees program development and fitness-center operations, coordinates equipment maintenance and acquisition, manages reports and deliverables, protects confidential records, supports membership recruitment and retention, and coordinates with FDIC offices and health and fitness teams. The FCMM also provides personal training and fitness instruction.
Required Qualifications
Candidate must have:
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university in:
- Health Science
- Biology
- Anatomy
- Physical Fitness
- Certification from at least one of the following:
- American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)
- American Council on Exercise (ACE)
- National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA)
- Minimum three years of professional experience in the fitness and health industry
- At least two years of program-management experience
- Personal Training Certification
- Group Exercise Certification from an accepted organization identified in SOW Section 4.1
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification
Preferred certifications include:
- Certified Personal Trainer
- Health Fitness Specialist
- Clinical Exercise Physiologist
Primary Duties
The Program Manager will:
- Oversee FDIC fitness-center operations and safe performance
- Supervise and direct contractor personnel
- Ensure contract compliance and high-quality customer service
- Maintain productive staff hours in an FDIC-acceptable format
- Lead program development and health/fitness education
- Coordinate with FDIC offices and health/fitness partners
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair
- Arrange acquisition and installation of new equipment
- Oversee monthly reports, newsletters, and other deliverables
- Ensure deliverables are timely and high quality
- Maintain confidential records
- Coordinate promotions, contests, and prizes
- Recruit and retain members
- Provide personal training and fitness instruction
- Develop and participate in fitness and health promotions
- Meet at least weekly with the FDIC Oversight Manager
- Remain current on industry trends and continuously improve operations
Position is contingent upon contract award.
