Fitness Instructor

Location: 3300 W. Community Dr. Muncie, IN. 

Shift Hours: 6+ hours per week; Primary Need: Late morning aquatic classes and coverage for land-based fitness classes

Requirements:

• Requires an Associate's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent years of experience.
• May require a valid Indiana driver's license and proof of insurance.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Some experience in fitness instruction is preferred.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Fitness Instructor leads safe, engaging group exercise classes while creating a positive and welcoming environment for participants. Instructors may teach both aquatic and land-based classes and provide coverage as needed.

• Lead safe and effective group fitness classes for varying ability levels.
• Provide appropriate exercise modifications and safety cues.
• Maintain a friendly, professional, and inclusive atmosphere.
• Speak clearly so all participants can follow instructions.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and safe exercise environment.
• Attend quarterly Be Well meetings.
• Stay current on IU Health communications, required training, and continuing education.
• Dress professionally and wear an IU Health
