Fleet Mechanic - Diesel & Automotive Repair

We are seeking an experienced Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic with a strong background in automotive and fleet maintenance to join a busy maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a diverse fleet of commercial vehicles, including semi-trucks, straight trucks, box trucks, and gasoline delivery vans.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and mechanical repairs on a diverse commercial vehicle fleet.
  
• Diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles.
  
• Service and maintain semi-trucks, straight trucks, box trucks, and delivery vans.
  
• Troubleshoot and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, electrical, cooling, and fuel systems.
  
• Perform inspections and identify potential mechanical and safety issues before they result in vehicle downtime.
  
• Complete preventive maintenance according to established schedules and manufacturer specifications.
  
• Use diagnostic equipment and technical information to accurately identify and resolve mechanical problems.
  
• Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and maintenance documentation.
  
• Perform emergency and breakdown repairs when required.
  
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
  
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  
• Follow company safety policies and applicable transportation and workplace regulations.
  
• Work collaboratively with other technicians and fleet personnel to keep vehicles operating safely and reliably.
  

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Truck Technician, Fleet Technician, or similar role.
  
• Strong diesel mechanical experience with commercial vehicles.
  
• Automotive repair experience is highly valued.
  
• Experience working on semi-trucks, straight trucks, box trucks, delivery vehicles, or similar commercial fleets.
  
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
  
• Knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, steering, and drive-train systems.
  
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and service information effectively.
  
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  
• Valid driver's license required.
  
• Relevant trade certification or formal technical training is an asset.

• $38.00 per hour
  
• Day shift – 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM or 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday - Friday.
