Omitron is seeking a mission-driven and detail-oriented Flight Safety/Test Analyst to join our team in Alexandria, VA, supporting a dynamic space operations environment. This position involves working at the forefront of satellite operations and space domain awareness, with a focus on real-time analysis, hazard identification, and procedural coordination across the satellite mission lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
Train on and operate multiple complex aerospace systems used to screen satellite orbits and assess spaceflight safety.
Interface with multiple satellite constellation operators to deliver timely and actionable insights regarding identified hazards or anomalies in orbit.
Troubleshoot basic failures and system anomalies while developing subject matter expertise in space environmental effects and spaceflight hazards.
Coordinate with senior analysts and tiered support teams to develop and implement temporary operational procedures across all phases of the satellite lifecycle—including development, launch, on-orbit operations, passivation, and reentry.
Maintain situational awareness of space traffic and provide analytical support to ensure mission success and space asset protection.
Minimum Requirements:
US Citizenship required
Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with CI Poly security clearance to start
Education: Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Space Operations, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience in space operations, aerospace analysis, or orbital safety.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in dynamic operational environments.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional and multi-agency teams.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with orbital analysis tools or space traffic management systems.
Familiarity with satellite command and control systems and protocols.
Prior experience coordinating with government or commercial space operators.
