Floor Care Technician

The Mary Campbell Center is first, last, and always, home to 68 residents. Together, staff ensures services are delivered with a high degree of quality, in a home like environment where residents live with respect, personal dignity, and independence to the fullness of their abilities. The Floor Care Technician position The Floor Care Technician must be a positive role model who works reliably, effectively, efficiently, and with respect for residents, staff, families, volunteers, professional consultants, and the physical environment of the Center.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

The Floor Care Technician at the Mary Campbell Center must be a good person of high character who consistently works with a positive attitude and demonstrates compassion and understanding for residents with varying degrees of disability. Ability to read and write, and to follow verbal and written instructions. Knowledge of how to maintain various floor systems to include but not limited to: carpet, vinyl floor tile, resilient floor materials, and ceramic tile. Skills in the use of equipment and materials needed to complete floor care task, including, but not limited to: Floor scrubbers, high speed buffer, carpet extractor, dry carpet cleaning machine, and wet/dry vacuum. Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. To provide on-going and systematic maintenance of all floor areas throughout the Center to ensure cleanliness and an attractive appearance.

2. Performs dry carpet cleaning processes as scheduled.

3. Performs carpet extraction processes as scheduled.

4. Performs stripping, waxing, burnishing, and buffing processes as scheduled.

5. Moves furniture, etc. in order to perform floor cleaning processes.

6. Regularly cleans and maintains equipment to ensure optimum and safe performance.

7. Notifies Facilities Manager of need for material and supplies necessary for operation.

8. Reports any damaged or faulty equipment to the Facilities Manager.

9. Follows safety and/or infection control procedures where necessary.

10. Completes all mandatory in-services and attends staff meetings as required.


11. Performs other duties as assigned.
