Seeking a candidate to immediately join our Youth Mentorship/Community Connectors Program as a Focus Case Manager, working from the school locations supporting Focus West and Focus East students, teachers, and staff by connecting them to community resources.
Full-time position, 32 hours/week, non-exempt/hourly position, medical/dental/vision insurance eligibility, flexible spending account (FSA) program, paid time off, paid holidays, 403b tax-deferred retirement savings option, primarily in school during school hours Monday through Thursday with some hme visits outside school hours. The position is 52 weeks so staff also work during Focus' academic breaks including winter and summer.
This program is currently funded through 6/30/2027, at which time we will evaluate the continuation of the position based on community needs and funding availability. The continuation of this position to and/or past this date is contingent on funding availability and is subject to change.
Community support role at Focus West and Focus East locations
Link students, teachers, and staff to community resources (this is not a teaching role, but instead a community support role)
Support new students being enrolled into Focus
Provide extra academic support in the classroom, primarily for the English Language Learners (ELL) population
Support students in meeting attendance requirements (some students are navigating the court system)
Finding resources for students with additional needs (e.g. single parents)
Helping students with community connections, finding employment, college/trade/career exploration
Attend Focus meetings/trainings alongside school teachers and staff
Attend CRIS meetings/trainings for CRIS staff
Degree from a four-year university or 2 years of experience in a directly related profession
At least one year of experience working with refugees/immigrants
Strongly prefer experience supporting high school youth, young adults, and families
Skilled in interpersonal and intercultural communication
Ability to be self-directed with position responsibilities
Resourceful, proactive problem-solving ability
Possess professional abilities in spoken and written English language
Preference for fluency in language/s spoken by the communities we serve, though not required
Strong organizational skills
Experience facilitating partnerships with schools and community social service providers
Experience working with diverse populations
Experience working with limited English-speaking communities and using language interpreters
Proficient skills with Microsoft Excel, Google Apps including Google Drive, e-mail, and internet
Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and current automobile insurance with clean driving record and willingness to drive clients
To be eligible to be added to CRIS' agency vehicle insurance and drive agency vehicles, the candidate must have or be willing to obtain an Ohio Drivers License, have at least 2 years of driving experience in the U.S., and a clean driving record assessed through a review of the Motor Vehicle Report
