About the Role

Spiegelworld is looking for a Food Runner STEX to join our team at Superfrico at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. The Runner has responsibilities both behind the scenes and on the restaurant floor. The ideal candidate will have an accommodating personality and the ability to work seamlessly between tasks supporting a dining operation that is fun, efficient, and polished without pretense. Ultimately, you’ll ensure we provide excellent guest service by supporting fellow server staff and staying guest-focused. This position reports to the Executive Sous Chef or Manager on duty. The pay for this position is $16.8257/hour plus $5 for every mozzarella cart.  This is a steady extra/on-call position, and the schedule will be based on the team’s needs. 

What You’ll Do

• Deliver prompt, efficient, and courteous service of food and beverages to guests in accordance with established standards.


• Deliver food from the kitchen to the appropriate tables and seat positions.


• Assist Food Servers and Server Assistants by clearing used dishes and refilling beverages.


• Actively engage in our antiracist commitment and internal practices by participating in offered learnings, engaging in conversations around Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, and helping us maintain a safe and welcoming workspace.


• Create a work environment which promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction.


• Prepare tableside fresh mozzarella cheese as ordered and as instructed by the Chefs.


• Assist in keeping the restaurant stocked with proper supplies.


• Provide any additional requests for guests.


• Communicate any additional information from guests to the Food Servers.


• Produce a smooth and efficiently run operation that meets the highest standards of guest service.


• Promote positive guest relations by interacting with guests in an efficient and courteous manner.


• Provide exceptional guest service that differentiates us from the competition.


• Adhere to established grooming and appearance standards, including maintaining a clean and well-maintained uniform.


• Make every effort to learn guest names and use them.


• Adhere to all health codes.


• Take part in pre-service duties and applicable closing duties


• Other duties as assigned by your manager

 All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Spiegelworld policies, practices, and procedures.

What You Bring

• At least 6 months of experience running food in a bar, lounge, nightclub, or full-service restaurant.


• Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.


• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.


• Effectively assist with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring diplomacy, tact, friendliness, poise, and firmness.


• A highly motivated and energetic personality with a strong commitment to excellence in hospitality.


• Pass a background check and drug screening before start date.


• Must have valid work authorization for the US.


• At least 21 years of age.

Preferred:

• Experience with creating classic/craft cocktails.


• Previous experience working in an energetic, hospitality-driven restaurant or nightlife venue.

• Requires transporting, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering items weighing up to 50 lbs.


• Requires eye/hand coordination.
