Full-time

Description

Forklift Operator & Production Support Technician aka General Laborer

Intermountain Electronics | Price, Utah

Schedule: Day Shift | Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–3:30 PM, with every other Friday off

Position Overview

Intermountain Electronics is looking for a dependable, safety-conscious individual with forklift experience to join our manufacturing team.

This is a hands-on position that combines forklift operation, industrial material handling, equipment preparation, and production support. You'll help move large materials and equipment throughout our facility, assist with positioning metal buildings using overhead cranes, and prepare finished products for shipment to customers.

If you enjoy operating equipment, staying active throughout your workday, and working in a manufacturing environment where no two days are exactly alike, this could be a great fit.

What You'll Do

Forklift & Material Handling

  • Operate forklifts to transport, move, and position large materials, equipment, and metal buildings throughout the manufacturing facility.
  • Assist with overhead crane operations to safely secure, lift, and position large equipment and metal structures.
  • Help organize materials and maintain clear, accessible production areas.
  • Follow established safety procedures when moving equipment and working around large loads.

Production & Equipment Preparation

  • Prepare completed electrical equipment and metal buildings for shipment.
  • Clean equipment interiors and exteriors to meet foreign object debris (FOD) requirements and customer quality expectations.
  • Remove dust, debris, packaging materials, and other contaminants using approved cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Assist with basic assembly, disassembly, installation, repairs, and refurbishment as needed.
  • Use common hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment to support daily production activities.

Shop Organization & Safety

  • Keep manufacturing areas clean, organized, and free of unnecessary debris.
  • Collect and dispose of waste materials inside the facility and around the property.
  • Inspect, maintain, and properly store tools and equipment.
  • Work closely with production teams and supervisors to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Previous forklift operating experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to safely handle large materials and work around industrial equipment.
  • Experience using basic hand tools and shop equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to workplace safety.
  • Dependable attendance and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, warehousing, industrial production, or material handling.
  • Experience operating overhead cranes or assisting with rigging and lifting operations.
  • Familiarity with equipment preparation, assembly, or production support.
  • Experience working around large metal structures or industrial equipment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to push or pull up to 100 pounds.
  • Comfortable standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work safely in an active industrial manufacturing environment.

Training & Certifications

Prior forklift experience is required, but you do not need to arrive with every certification.

Intermountain Electronics provides internal training and certification opportunities for forklift and overhead crane operation, based on job requirements.

Why Join Intermountain Electronics?

At IE, you'll be part of a team that manufactures custom electrical equipment used in industries across the country. This position offers the opportunity to build your industrial equipment and manufacturing experience while contributing to projects from production through final shipment.

We're looking for someone who takes pride in doing the job safely, pays attention to the details, and enjoys being part of a hardworking team.
