Forklift Operator (Day Shift)

Job Summary:

The Forklift Operator (Stand-Up) is responsible for safely operating a stand-up forklift to perform material handling duties within the warehouse. This position supports warehouse operations by transporting, storing, replenishing, and staging products in Freezer, Cooler, and Dry environments while maintaining accurate inventory levels and adhering to all safety standards.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a stand-up forklift only (no sit-down forklifts).
• Perform material handling assignments in Dry, Cooler, and Freezer warehouse environments.
• Identify, transport, and place materials to and from storage areas into designated warehouse pick slots.
• Operate forklift/high-lift equipment to lower stock from reserve locations to ground-level pick slots.
• Replenish pick slots with product from reserve storage to maintain proper inventory levels for order selection.
• Follow all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or equipment issues immediately.
• Maintain equipment in safe working conditions and comply with operational guidelines.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Prior experience operating a stand-up forklift or electric pallet jack.
• Previous warehouse experience required; foodservice industry experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The Forklift Operator must be able to stand for extended periods, operate a stand-up forklift, and frequently bend, reach, twist, push, and pull while handling materials. The position requires the ability to lift, carry, and maneuver materials as needed, work at varying heights, and operate equipment safely. The employee must be able to work in fluctuating temperature environments, including Freezer, Cooler, and Dry warehouse conditions, and tolerate moderate to high noise levels.
