About the Position

The Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative and patient-facing responsibilities. This role supports patients throughout their visit by handling registration, insurance verification, scheduling, payment collection, and check-out procedures.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable multitasking in a busy healthcare environment. Success in this position requires strong communication skills, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to putting patients first.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and visitors in a friendly, professional manner
  • Register patients and verify demographic and insurance information
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
  • Collect copays, deductibles, outstanding balances, and other patient payments
  • Schedule follow-up appointments accurately and efficiently
  • Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with questions and requests
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
  • Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, clinical staff, and other departments
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while creating a positive patient experience

Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Professional, dependable, and patient-focused attitude

Preferred

  • Customer service experience in a healthcare or medical office setting
  • Experience with insurance verification, patient registration, scheduling, or payment collection
