Front of House Hospitality Shift Leader

Job Description - Front of House Hospitality Shift Leader

A Shift Leader at Chick-fil-A King George is an integral part of the leadership team and business who consistently demonstrates our core values, embraces the Chick-fil-A culture and has a servant’s heart. They have a passion for people and serving others, have strong character, take initiative and work with a sense of urgency at all times. Our Shift Leaders are responsible for supporting senior leadership in executing daily operations and keeping team members accountable for operational excellence. They want to win, love developing people, upholding standards and taking pride in running an excellent restaurant. This role is more than assigning positions and keeping the shift moving. Shift Leaders lead by example and set the tone that others will follow.

Our Shift Leaders take ownership of the entire restaurant: from food safety and food quality, to the customer experience, cleanliness, speed, teamwork, and operational execution. We need shift leaders who see a problem and take action. They work with urgency, anticipate what the team will need next, protect our food safety standards without compromise, and challenge themselves and others to continually get better. Most importantly, our Shift Leaders understand that everything happening in the restaurant ultimately impacts a guest, and in everything we do we want to put our guests first. Every smiling employee, safe product, clean workstation, properly stocked position, accurate order, and hot piece of chicken contributes to the experience we provide.

A Shift Lead is responsible for leading the Front of House operation during an assigned shift and creating an environment where Team Members and Team Leads can successfully execute at a high level. Shift Leads translate restaurant priorities into an effective shift plan, deploy people and resources intentionally, anticipate operational needs, develop leaders, maintain accountability, and make real-time decisions to protect the guest experience, team experience, and Chick-fil-A standards. A Shift Lead does not simply respond to what is happening now. They are continually asking: “What does the restaurant need next?”
