Job Description - Front of House Team Leader

Team Leaders play a vital role in supporting senior leadership by executing daily operations with excellence and ensuring team members are accountable to the highest standards of service and quality. Their two primary responsibilities are keeping the restaurant running smoothly by completing key tasks and coaching/developing team members so they can grow and thrive.

By leading with integrity and setting the standard in both word and action, Team Leaders at Chick-fil-A Petaluma create an environment where others are inspired to follow their example and deliver remarkable experiences to every guest.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Willing and able to work a flexible schedule opening or closing the restaurant a variety of weekdays and on both Fridays and Saturdays
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position which includes standing for the entirety of your shift and lifting over 30 lbs.
  • Provide genuine hospitality to guests with a heart of service
  • Reliable transportation
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong people skills with a desire to serve Team Members
  • Strong commitment to superior customer service
  • Ability to manage Team Member behavioral and performance issues
  • Ability to work in a team environment with shared ownership and responsibility
  • Ability to respond well to leadership/authority and coaching
  • Prior experience as shift lead, crew lead, supervisor, team lead, restaurant manager, restaurant assistant manager is not required but is preferred

Team Leader Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in daily operations in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environment
  • Offer immediate and respectful responses to guest needs, ensuring a remarkable hospitality experience
  • Maintain Chick-fil-A’s food safety, cleanliness, and quality standards at all times
  • Assist in training team members, set the tone for each shift, and serve as a role model for the team
  • Lead by example as a friendly, encouraging, and dependable team player
  • Open and/or close the restaurant, lead shifts, and act as a key holder
  • Ensure consistent execution of established restaurant systems (hospitality, food safety, cleanliness, scheduling, cash handling, etc.) to maintain operational excellence
  • Maintain accountability for shift systems such as checklists, line-up routines, and handoff procedures to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Resolve guest concerns with professionalism and servant leadership
  • Adhere to Chick-fil-A expectations, standards, and dress code at all times
  • Other duties as assigned
