We're looking for someone who takes pride in their job and wants to make Elim a better place to work.  As a Maintenance Assistant at Elim, you'll be required to:

• Assist in the repair and/or installation of various items, repair broken windows, roofs, building structures, floors, handrails, stairs, lighting systems, for the purpose of ensuring that items are available and in safe working condition


• Assist other maintenance personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work


• Assist with painting tasks as directed for the purpose of maintaining attractive facilities and minimizing damage.


• Clean and perform minor repairs of gutters and drains for the purpose of ensuring proper operation and adequate drainage.


• Install system component parts, classroom and office equipment and facility components as may be required for the purpose of maintaining facilities in a safe, comfortable and operating condition.


• Monitor work order system for any work orders assigned to them.


• Update/Close out work orders in a timely manner. May also ask Administrative Assistant of Maintenance for help with this.


• Maintain tools and/or equipment for the purpose of ensuring the availability of equipment in safe operating condition.


• Maintain a clean and organized workspace including but not limited to maintenance garage, mechanical rooms, and vehicles.


• Request equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required items.


• Respond to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.


• Assist with organizational set-ups and loading and unloading deliveries.


• Perform set up and tear down and support for organizational events such as
  Dutch Fest, Elim Car Show, and regular program events.


• Perform grounds-related functions as may be required for the purpose of preserving grounds in a healthy, attractive and safe condition.


• Be on-call 24 hours during winter months and/or during any emergency situations.


• Perform other tasks as assigned Director of Facilities or Administrative Assistant for Maintenance.

You'll work on 32 beautiful acres on the Crestwood/Palos Heights campus housing 4 program buildings and 1 program building located in Orland Park.

Hours:     

• Monday - Friday: 7:00am - 3:30pm
  
  
  
  • Will work 6:00am - 2:30pm every 4th month for entire month
  
  
  
  


• On-call at times for evenings/weekends as needed and for early morning snow removal. 


• 52 weeks/year

Wages & Benefits:

• Competitive starting pay of $24.75/hr - $28.00/hr

Education, Licenses & Certifications:  

•    High School Diploma or equivalent   


•    Valid Driver's license
