Full-Time Heavy Equipment Operator

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal functionality.


• Push, place, and compact waste, contributing to a clean and organized landfill site.


• Excavate, load, process, transport, and place daily cover material as required.


• Provide guidance and direction to co-workers during projects, serving as a mentor and resource.


• Learn to read blueprints, use GPS for surveying, and utilize Laser Grade Control System effectively.


• Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in developing and adjusting plans as needed.


• Assist with labor-intensive tasks when necessary.


• Attend assigned workshops, trainings, and other professional development opportunities.


• Uphold workplace safety practices, prioritizing the well-being of yourself and your team.


• Foster positive communication between the company and employees.


• Execute any other task or duty as assigned or required by the Field Foreman, Management, and/or Board of Directors.

Requirements:

• Preferred but not required: Valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL).


• Minimum of three years of experience operating heavy equipment. Less than 3 years are still encouraged to apply.


• Proficient operation of at least five or more machines preferred.


• General construction experience relevant to daily operations.


• Willingness to stay updated with technological advancements and adapt to new applications.


• Self-starter and self-motivated individual who can work independently and as part of a team.


• Ability to make sound decisions and demonstrate good judgment.


• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.


• Strong customer service skills to interact effectively with the public.


• Commitment to adhering to on-site safety plans and occupational practices.


• Physical strength, including the ability to perform medium to very heavy physical tasks.


• Flexibility to work extended hours beyond the standard workweek.
