The Shuttle Bus Operator is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and professional transportation services for employees, visitors, and other authorized passengers. This position requires a strong commitment to passenger safety, customer service, punctuality, vehicle care, and compliance with company, state, and Department of Transportation requirements.
The successful candidate must demonstrate sound judgment, a professional appearance, a sense of urgency, and the ability to represent ABM positively while operating in a fast-paced transportation environment.

· Safely operated shuttle vehicles along established routes and schedules.
· Provide courteous, professional, and responsive service to passengers.
· Complete required pre-trip, post-trip, and shift-change vehicle inspections.
· Immediately report vehicle defects, warning lights, damage, safety concerns, accidents, and maintenance needs.
· Follow all applicable traffic laws, state regulations, Department of Transportation requirements, site rules, and company safety procedures.
· Maintain awareness of route conditions, passenger needs, traffic patterns, and operational changes.
· Communicate clearly with Shift Supervisors regarding route coverage, delays, breaks, restroom relief, vehicle concerns, and service interruptions.
· Follow established procedures for meal periods, rest breaks, and restroom relief without unnecessarily removing an operational shuttle from service.
· Ensure passengers enter, ride, and exit the vehicle safely.
· Maintain a clean, orderly, and professional vehicle environment.
· Accurately complete required operational, inspection, attendance, incident, and vehicle documentation.
· Report to work on time, in proper uniform, and ready to perform assigned duties.
· Perform other transportation-related duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
· Possess a current and valid driver’s license.
· High school diploma or GED.
· Minimum of two years of experience operating a shuttle bus, passenger vehicle, commercial vehicle, or similar transportation equipment.
· Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service in a professional environment.
· Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with passengers, supervisors, coworkers, and management.
· Working knowledge of applicable state driving laws and Department of Transportation safety requirements.
· Ability to follow routes, schedules, written procedures, and supervisor instructions.
· Ability to maintain a professional appearance and represent ABM in a positive manner.
· Dependable attendance and punctuality.
· Willingness and ability to work weekends, holidays, early mornings, evenings, overnight shifts, and overtime when operationally required.
· Ability to remain calm, professional, and safety-focused during traffic delays, passenger concerns, emergencies, or changing operational conditions.
· Ability to complete required vehicle inspections and operational documentation accurately.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are preferred but not required:
· Bilingual communication skills.
· Basic first-aid or CPR knowledge.
· Current first-aid or CPR certification.
· Commercial Driver’s License or other license or certification related to passenger transportation or heavy vehicle operation.
· Passenger endorsement or other applicable transportation endorsement.
· Previous experience working in an airport, manufacturing campus, industrial site, parking operation, or 24-hour transportation environment.
· Experience using radios, mobile applications, electronic timekeeping systems, or transportation reporting tools.
Employment Conditions
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all required pre-employment screening processes.
Candidates must:
· Successfully complete a criminal background screening.
· Successfully complete a drug screening.
· Successfully complete a motor vehicle record review.
· Maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record throughout employment.
· Meet all company, client, state, and Department of Transportation qualification requirements applicable to the position.
· Complete all required onboarding, safety, route, vehicle, and customer-service training.
Failure to successfully complete or maintain any required screening, license, qualification, or certification may affect eligibility for employment or continued assignment.
