Case Mix: GI procedures (Upper endoscopy, Colonoscopy)

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

Hospital Privileges Required: Yes

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

Required
- Upper GI endoscopy (with biopsy, with foreign body removal, with fulguration of bleeder (cautery vs. laser))
- Small Bowel biopsy
- Lower GI endoscopy
- Sigmoidoscopy (Flexible)
- Colonoscopy (with biopsy, with excision of polyp)

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Board: BC required (Eligible)
Licenses: Licensed in DC, MD or Universal License (IMLC)
Certifications: BLS, ACLS

Duties & Responsibilities

Perform upper endoscopy procedures (30 minutes per case)
Perform colonoscopy procedures (30 minutes per case)
Perform combined upper endoscopy and colonoscopy (60 minutes per case)
Administer moderate sedation for endoscopic procedures
Provide outpatient gastroenterology consultations and follow -up care
