Job Description - General Clerk (multiple positions)

Description

Infinity Technology is seeking a motivated, detailed oriented, and customer-focused individual who would be responsible for General Clerk activities in support of our Department of Labor DOL, Office of the Senior Procurement Executive (OSPE) contract. The ideal candidate will have federal work experience, be an expert in the field, work independently with minimal supervision, and have prior experience in a similar role within government environments.

*This position is primarily located in the Washington DC area, but contractors may be required to provide support at any DOL occupied facility located nationwide.*
 

*This position is Contingent upon contract award with work expected to begin immediately.*

*We are seeking to fill multiple positions and skill levels, to include General Clerk Levels I, II and III.*

-- DOL, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management (OASAM) is responsible for the development of policies, standards, procedures, systems and materials related to the resource and administrative management of the department.

-- DOL, OASAM Office of the Senior Procurement Executive (OSPE) is a customer service organization that delivers consistent, high-quality, enterprise-wide procurement services to support DOL’s diverse missions and maximize the Department’s federal buying power.

-- To support the Agencies across the Department, OSPE requires the services to provide acquisition, logistical, administrative, management, and technical writing services to assist with the day-today activities.


Requirements

Duties & Responsibilities

-- Perform clerical tasks including answering telephones, handling mail, operating office equipment, and maintaining office supplies.

-- Gather, compile, and verify information and perform data entry.

-- Review outgoing correspondence to ensure it is properly formatted and prepared on official letterhead for distribution. Reviews shall be completed within 24 hours of assignment.

-- Order and maintain supplies for office personnel, copiers, shredders, facsimile machines, and other office equipment.

-- Manage the file room, including retrieving files upon request.

-- Greet visitors and escort or direct them to the appropriate individual.

-- Manage, reserve, schedule, and set up conference rooms for DOL personnel.

-- Assist DOL personnel in preparing for meetings (e.g., making copies) and/or in-house training with customers and/or Contract Specialists, as requested.

Education Requirements

-- High school diploma or its equivalent for General Clerk Level I and II.

-- College degree (desired, not mandatory) for General Clerk III.

Experience Requirements

-- Minimum one (1) year of relevant professional experience for General Clerk I.

-- Minimum two (2) years of relevant professional experience for General Clerk II.

-- Minimum three (3) years of relevant professional experience for General Clerk III.

Key Qualifications

-- Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office software.

-- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

-- Moderate understanding of general clerical aspects (Level I).

-- Works with supervision on less complex tasks within established procedures (Level I).

-- Proficient in multiple competencies relevant to the job (Level II).

-- Works with moderate supervision on moderately complex tasks within established procedures (Level II and III).

-- Fully proficient in multiple competencies relevant to the job (Level III).

Desired Certifications & Training

-- Technical training or certifications related to office administration are beneficial but not required.

Security Requirements

-- Candidate must be capable of meeting the criteria for a background investigation and have the ability to obtain a government issued identification badge.  All successful candidates will be required to receive and maintain a National Agency Check Inquiries (NACI) security clearance.
