What You'll Do
- Legal Leadership & Governance: Provide high-level advice to executive leadership on complex, high-impact legal and regulatory matters.
- Strategy & Risk: Establish and scale legal frameworks, policies, and controls aligned with company risk tolerance and growth objectives.
- Department Management: Lead, mentor, and oversee the legal department, ensuring high-quality work product and professional development.
- Litigation & Transactions: Oversee critical company transactions and manage litigation matters, including the oversight of outside counsel strategy and budgets.
- Regulatory Advisory: Proactively advise leadership on evolving regulatory landscapes and associated business risks.
- Strategic Advisory: Provides high-level legal advice to executive leadership and internal stakeholders on complex, high-impact legal and regulatory matters.
- Policy Scaling: Establishes and scales legal frameworks, policies, and controls aligned with the company’s risk tolerance and growth objectives.
- Talent Oversight: Leads, mentors, and oversees junior legal associates to ensure high-quality work product and professional development across the team.
- Transaction Management: Oversees critical company transactions, including strategic vendor agreements, technology contracts, and commercial deals.
- Litigation Strategy: Manages and coordinates litigation matters and regulatory inquiries, including the oversight of outside counsel strategy and budgets.
- Risk Allocation: Advises on liability exposure and dispute resolution strategies to protect the company's long-term interests.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school with an active bar membership.
- Experience: 10+ years of legal experience with a proven track record of providing high-level advice to senior stakeholders.
- Management: Proven experience managing others in legal, compliance, and QA within a regulated environment.
- Specialization: Deep experience overseeing critical company transactions, disputes, and regulatory inquiries.
