General Labor

Position Summary

The General Laborer is responsible for assisting with various production operations within the Paint Shop to ensure quality products are manufactured safely and efficiently. This position may rotate between several workstations, including surface grinding, wash bay, powder coating, and assembly. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to learn multiple manufacturing processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform surface grinding to prepare metal parts for finishing.


• Clean and prepare parts in the wash bay prior to powder coating.


• Hang and remove parts from the production line.


• Assist with assembly of finished products according to work instructions.


• Inspect parts for defects before and after processing.


• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.


• Follow production schedules and complete assigned work to meet shipping deadlines.


• Safely operate hand tools, grinders, and other manufacturing equipment.


• Follow all company safety policies, including proper use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).


• Report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or safety hazards to a supervisor immediately.


• Perform other duties as assigned to support production needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.


• Previous manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.


• Ability to follow basic work instructions.


• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.


• Reliable attendance and punctuality.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.


• Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.


• Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, and repetitive hand movements.


• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, heat, noise, and moving equipment.


• Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, steel-toe boots, hearing protection, gloves, non-latex apron and gloves.

Work Environment

• This position is performed in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. Employees are expected to maintain a clean and organized work area while meeting production and quality expectations. Overtime may be required based on production demands.
