Job Description
This position, under general supervision, performs a variety of indoor and outdoor cleaning and maintenance activities in order to provide a safe, clean environment for faculty, staff, and students.
Salary Range:
$42,198 - $55,248
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of:
Different types of flooring/floor covering sufficient to determine proper methods of maintenance and appropriate cleaning methods, materials, agents, and equipment.
Chemical cleaning agents such as ammonia, bleaches, scouring agents, and soaps, sufficient to appropriately select the agent(s), handle and apply, and dispose of safely.
Methods, tools, and equipment used in maintenance sufficient to use effectively, operate safely, and to make minor repairs.
Ability to:
Physical health and endurance sufficient to perform work functions.
Follow simple oral and written instructions.
Perform assigned tasks with limited work direction.
Keep simple records.
Preferred Qualification
Current State of MN Boiler Operators License - Class A, B, C, or Special Engineer.
Knowledge of general methods of the mechanical, masonry, welding, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting trades.
Ability to perform semi-skilled work in a number of trade areas and to assist with more difficult work.
Bilingual/multilingual fluent in Spanish, Karen, Karenni, Somali, Pohnpeian, French, Nuer, Anuak, or other languages that reflect our student body, workforce, and communities.
Demonstrated experience working with multicultural and underserved populations.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform a variety of physical tasks, lift and carry materials weighing 40-60 lbs. (and occasionally more with assistance), and work in inclement weather conditions when necessary.
