We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager at our Salt Lake City, Utah location. The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, operational performance, and financial success of the manufacturing facility. This position provides strategic and hands-on leadership for all aspects of the operation, including production, safety, quality, employee development, scheduling, planning, customer satisfaction, profitability, building and grounds. The General Manager ensures that the facility consistently meets business objectives while maintaining a strong culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
What you’ll do
- Drive the overall financial performance and profitability of the facility.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and operating plans.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, productivity improvements, and operational efficiencies.
- Lead all manufacturing, production, planning, and operational activities.
- Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
- Oversee capacity planning, workforce allocation, and resource utilization.
- Establish and maintain processes that support operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with engineering, sales, customer service, and supply chain teams to ensure customer requirements are achieved.
- Coordinate with other General Managers to ensure alignment with Robinson processes and quality.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to group leads, supervisors, and employees throughout the facility.
- Develop succession plans and talent development strategies throughout the facility and work with production leads.
- Foster a positive, high-performance culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and employee engagement.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support employee growth and development, oversee the same work from group leads.
- Promote and maintain a culture where safety is the highest priority.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
- Lead initiatives to reduce workplace safety incidents and improve overall safety performance.
- Ensure facility policies and procedures are consistently followed.
- Ensure products meet company and customer quality standards.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts related to quality concerns.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives to improve product quality and manufacturing processes.
- Coordinate resources to meet customer delivery commitments and business objectives.
- Support key customer relationships and assist in resolving significant customer concerns.
- Ensure customer expectations are met through operational excellence and responsiveness.
What you bring
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Management, Operations, or closely related field; or a combination of experience and education.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing/industrial facility
- Experience leading multi-department manufacturing operations.
- Proven success in employee leadership, team development, and organizational growth.
- Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling, quality systems, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience in industrial equipment, fan manufacturing, air movement, or related industrial manufacturing operations preferred.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement experience and/or certifications a plus.
- MBA or advanced business degree preferred.
