Some hotels practically run themselves. This isn't one of them. And that's exactly what makes this opportunity exciting.
Nestled in the mountains just outside Las Vegas, The Retreat on Charleston Peak is anything but a traditional hotel. It's a mountain escape, a dining destination, a wedding and events venue, and a place where guests come to create memories they won't soon forget.
We're looking for a General Manager who sees that combination not as a challenge, but as an opportunity.
This role is for a leader who wants to run a business, not simply manage a building.
Someone who understands that exceptional hospitality and strong financial performance aren't competing priorities. Someone who can inspire a team, drive revenue, build a thriving Food & Beverage operation, and turn a busy events calendar into exceptional guest experiences and meaningful profitability.
If you're looking for a predictable, desk-driven hotel management position, this probably isn't your next move.
But if you're a hands-on hospitality professional who loves building teams, solving problems, making decisions, and seeing the results of your leadership, we'd like to meet you.
As General Manager, you'll take ownership of a distinctive property with multiple revenue streams, a committed team, and tremendous potential.
You'll lead hotel operations, Food & Beverage, weddings, special events, and the overall guest experience, while managing the financial performance of the business.
You'll have the support of Lark Hotels, but we'll also expect you to bring your own ideas, instincts, accountability, and leadership to the table.
We want someone who thinks like an owner, leads like a coach, and delivers like an operator.
The Business
Drive total property revenue across Rooms, Food & Beverage, weddings, and special events.
Build and execute annual business plans, operating budgets, staffing strategies, marketing initiatives, and capital improvement plans.
Own profitability. Understand the numbers, challenge expenses, manage labor, and protect the bottom line without compromising the guest experience.
Partner with Revenue Management and Sales & Marketing to identify opportunities, grow market share, and maximize revenue.
Build strong relationships with ownership, Lark leadership, community partners, and key business accounts.
Establish clear performance goals and hold your leadership team accountable for results.
The Guest Experience
Create an environment where exceptional hospitality is the expectation, not the exception.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, maintenance, presentation, and service throughout the property.
Ensure that hotel stays, restaurant visits, weddings, and events consistently deliver memorable experiences.
Be visible, approachable, and actively engaged in daily operations.
Turn guest feedback into meaningful improvements and service opportunities.
The People
Build a team that takes pride in its work, supports one another, and genuinely enjoys taking care of guests.
Recruit, develop, coach, and retain talented department leaders and associates.
Establish clear expectations, provide consistent feedback, and recognize outstanding performance.
Create a culture where accountability and respect go hand in hand.
Lead through challenges with confidence, fairness, and a healthy sense of humor.
Partner with Human Resources to ensure sound employment practices, accurate documentation, and compliance with company policies.
The Operation
Maintain effective controls over payroll, purchasing, inventory, cash handling, and operating expenses.
Oversee scheduling and labor management to ensure appropriate staffing without unnecessary expense.
Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, employee status management, and required reporting.
Maintain a safe, clean, and well-operated property, including compliance with applicable workplace safety and emergency procedures.
Lead the hotel's Safety Committee and ensure employees receive appropriate training.
Identify capital needs, prioritize preventive maintenance, and protect the long-term value of the asset.
Use technology, reporting, and operational data to improve efficiency and make smarter decisions.
We're not looking for someone who simply checks the boxes on a job description.
We're looking for someone who has been in the trenches, understands the business, and knows how to bring out the best in people.
You'll likely thrive here if:
You have significant hotel leadership experience and a strong understanding of full-service hospitality operations.
You know your way around a P&L and understand that revenue means little without disciplined expense management.
You have meaningful Food & Beverage and events experience, and understand the opportunities and complexities of both.
You're comfortable moving from a budget discussion to a kitchen conversation to a guest interaction without missing a beat.
You know how to develop department heads rather than simply direct them.
You can make tough decisions, have difficult conversations, and maintain the respect of your team.
You're resourceful, resilient, organized, and comfortable operating in an environment where no two days look alike.
You bring ideas to the table and have the initiative to put them into action.
You take accountability seriously, but don't take yourself too seriously.
Most importantly, you genuinely enjoy hospitality, and it shows.
At Lark Hotels, our values aren't intended to live on a poster in the employee breakroom. They're meant to show up in how we lead, how we treat people, and how we do business.
Integrity: Do the right thing, even when no one is watching.
Concern for Others: Take care of your team, and they'll take care of your guests.
Collaboration: Great ideas and great hospitality can come from anyone.
Accountability: Own your results, learn from mistakes, and keep getting better.
Hospitality Soul: Work hard, have fun, and create experiences worth remembering.
We believe great leaders build great teams, and great teams build great hotels.
Hospitality doesn't operate on a Monday-through-Friday schedule, and neither does this position. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential when the business requires it.
This is an active, on-property leadership role requiring strong communication, sound judgment, professional integrity, and the ability to remain composed under pressure.
The General Manager must be capable of overseeing all aspects of hotel operations, following company safety standards, and fulfilling the essential functions of the position, with reasonable accommodations as applicable.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and complete employment eligibility verification in accordance with federal requirements.
The Retreat on Charleston Peak offers something increasingly rare in hospitality: the opportunity to lead a property with real personality, diverse business opportunities, and room to make a meaningful impact.
We're looking for someone who brings experience, energy, curiosity, financial discipline, and a genuine passion for developing people.
Someone who doesn't need every answer handed to them.
Someone who can see what the property is today, recognize what it can become, and lead the team toward that vision.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to have a conversation.
