Our teams work collaboratively to ensure manufacturing excellence, production readiness, and continuous improvement across programs.\n\nWe are looking for you to join our team as General Manufacturing Manager 1 to support production and manufacturing operations at our Central Virginia manufacturing facilities.\n\nThe General Manufacturing Manager 1 will have organizational responsibility for assemblers and test technicians. The primary mission is to meet or exceed customer requirements by providing quality products on time and within program cost targets, while promoting a lean manufacturing environment.\n\nWhat You\u0027ll Get to Do:\n\n * Provide leadership direction in areas such as: Technical Guidance, Process Development, Continuous Improvement, Capacity Planning, Capital \u0026 Facility Planning, Cost/ Benefit Analysis, Manpower Planning, Staffing, ISO9001and all auditable processes.\n\n * Provide direction to employees utilizing management guidelines and general policies.\n\n * Drive employee efficiency.\n\n * Meet product cost and schedule targets.\n\n * Manage to department budget.\n\n * Manage the area to produce quality products.\n\n * Attract, retain and develop talent and execute a cohesive strategy to create an inclusive culture and build an engaged workforce.\n\n\n\n\nThis position is contingent upon proposal/task award.\n\nBasic Qualifications for the General Manufacturing Manager:\n\n * Bachelor\u0027s degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or production environment OR a Master\u0027s degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or production environment; will also consider a minimum of 9 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment in lieu of a Bachelor\u2019s degree\n\n * At least one year of experience managing or leading people or projects\n\n * Experience in MS Office software applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, etc.)\n\n * The ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Level Security clearance\n\n * U.S. Citizenship is required.\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Current Secret clearance\n\n * Experience as an electrical or test engineer\n\n * Experience managing manufacturing assembly and test\n\n * Experience with SAP or other Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system for business\n\n * Prior program, project and/or people management, cross-organizational, process improvement experience\n\n * Lean or Green Belt certified\n\n\n\n\nWhat We Can Offer You:\n\nNorthrop Grumman provides a comprehensive benefits package and a work environment which encourages your growth and supports the mutual success of our people and our company. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.\n\nThe application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
