Job Summary
Responsible for planning, scheduling, employee oversite, and management of industrial mechanical construction projects up to $10M in value, with a primary focus on industrial piping systems and equipment setting. Assists Project Manager in coordinating activities of employees engaged in construction process, utilizing knowledge of equipment, techniques, procedures, and specifications. This position is responsible for assisting craft supervision to coordinating activities of workers engaged in construction process, utilizing knowledge of equipment, techniques, procedures, and specifications with emphasis on process and utility piping installation and execution. 


Essential Job Responsibilities



  • Review project schedules with Superintendents/Foreman. Ensure that critical activities and decisions remain on schedule for the project management team including piping installation, tie-ins, and critical path system completion activities. 

  • Oversee field specific activities for industrial construction projects from setup to closeout related to the industries that Industrial Construction serves energy, power, mining, manufacturing, pharma, etc with direct oversight of industrial piping system installation, welding, and system completion.

  • Document project field issues that impact budget, quality, or schedule, and provide to the project management team.

  • Respond to subcontractor requests for field issues that impact budget, quality, or schedule primarily for supporting scopes such as insulation, coatings, and specialty services. 

  • Supervises the daily work of employees including pipefitters, welders, and supporting craft. 

  • Verifies conformance of finished work product, including overseeing compliance with all contract requirements and applicable piping codes and specifications.

  • Ensure all safety and environmental requirements are met.

  • Coordination of all labor, equipment, and subcontractor resources with Project subordinates and other Loenbro companies to ensure timely, cost-effective completion of project with focus on efficient installation of process and utility piping systems. 

  • Leads execution of shutdowns, outages, and live system tie-ins where required. 

  • Ensures systems are ready for testing, turnover, and commissioning support.


 


Minimum Qualifications


Required:



  • Engineering or Construction Management Degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction of industrial & Commercial projects with experience in industrial piping systems.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role overseeing mechanical craft trades including pipefitters and welders. 

  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office products.

  • Completion of OSHA 30 or equivalent safety training.

  • Ability to travel at least 75% of the time.

  • Driver’s license with a clean driving record.


 


Preferred:



  • Experience with HCSS Heavy Job or similar job costing program.

  • Experience with P6 or similar scheduling software.

  • Experience with Viewpoint or similar account software.

  • Experience with Heavy Bid or similar estimating software.

  • Familiarity with code-compliant piping systems (ASME or similar)


Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights)

  • Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1-50 pounds, 50% of the time monthly for required tasks

  • Potential or Periodic amounts of time for the following: Walking on uneven terrain, with an average of two miles per day.

  • Standing.

  • Sit, stoop, crawl, and kneel.

  • use of respirator if position requires.

  • Driving if required to travel.


 


 


Work Environment:



  • Outside most of the time.

  • Potential exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures.

  • Mining environment.

  • Fit and move in confined spaces including tanks and vessels.

  • Limited working surfaces.

  • Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors.

  • Exposure to areas with limited visibility.


This role requires compliance with all applicable safety regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and Loenbro's Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies.
