This opportunity is for a Full Time General Supervisor for our established molecular lab in Ridgewood, NJ.
The General Supervisor shall perform the professional and administrative services as may be necessary for oversight of the Pathology Lab, without limitation, as deemed necessary by the organization. Essential Functions, Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and accepted professional and ethical standards and guidelines
- Oversee compliance under contracts identified by Employer from time to time (including contracts with third party payors)
- Collect, process, and analyze samples in accordance with Employer policies and applicable law;
- Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies, and advise Employer as to suitability of equipment
- Coordinate services, staff, and policies of the Lab
- Train, supervise and evaluate all testing and/or support personnel
- Review, revise, and implement policies and procedures of the Lab
- Organize and store chemicals substances, and fluids according to safety instructions
- Oversee Lab quality control and quality assurance programs
- Supervise and monitor the quality of test results
- Without limiting the generality of the foregoing:
- Assist in the development and implementation of such quality systems appropriate for all Laboratory Developed Polymerase Chain Reaction tests ("LDTs")
- Monitor and report on the analytic performance of LDTs being performed by Employer
- Establish performance criteria, including accuracy and precision of each LDT test and system
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Medical Technology or related field required
- Must be certified by ASCP or AMT
- 2-4 years Laboratory experience
