General Trades Technician I

Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines. Essential Functions:

• Performs repair tasks on related to the building shell and all systems integrated in that shell.
• Conducts routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and safety. Maintains systems as required by regulatory agencies.
• Responds to work orders and service requests in a timely and efficient manner, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and importance.
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment and system malfunctions, identifying root causes and recommending appropriate solutions. Collaborates with other stakeholders and outside vendors.
• Maintains accurate records of work performed, including parts used, labor hours, and other relevant information. Maintains stock, inventory, and orders materials.
• Adheres to all safety protocols and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following established procedures for hazardous materials handling and disposal.

Education Requirement:

High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

Licensure Requirement:

Certifications:

• Certification from a trade program, preferred.
• Miscellaneous installation or repair certifications from vendors, preferred.

Experience:

Two years of commercial experience, required.
