The job consults with operations groups as needed to support the area of expertise and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement of product and service delivery and formally communicates findings. The Geophysicist actively participates in promoting new technology and services offerings and supports the product line in risk management and applying lessons learned to improve job design and execution as related to the area of expertise. They provide real-time support to operations as required. The Geosolutions Geophysicist is responsible for contributing expertise in various acquisition and processing techniques and geophysics, and an understanding of interpretation and inversion.\n\nCome join one of the world\u2019s most diverse and inclusive groups of industry experts. Together, we create amazing technology that unlocks access to energy for the benefit of all.\n\n\u00b7 Depth imaging with extensive velocity model building experience using Full Wave Inversion (FWI).\n\n\u00b7 Provide technical support in the area of expertise throughout the Sales and Product and Service Delivery process.\n\n\u00b7 Assist in evaluating technical viability and overall appraisal of tenders as related to the area of expertise.\n\n\u00b7 Consult with Design/Technical Engineer role as required to optimize the technical design.\n\n\u00b7 Design seismic imaging workflows to improve quality of subsurface images for a given geological setting.\n\n\u00b7 Define, build and submit test jobs, interpret test results, provide recommendations on parameters and recommend further testing, if required.\n\n\u00b7 Process data using the appropriate technology and software.\n\n\u00b7 Interface consistently with customers and advise them regarding processing parameters.\n\n\u00b7 Validate the accuracy and efficiency of all testing and production job sequences.\n\n\u00b7 Ensure that processed data is delivered to customers on schedule.\n\n\u00b7 Archive projects.\n\n\u00b7 Assist the Project Leader with daily project and personnel management, including quality control.\n\n\u00b7 Assist in real-time incident response, recovery, and investigation as related to the area of expertise.\n\n\u00b7 Keep abreast of developments and new technologies within seismic data processing and communication and data transfer techniques.\n\n\u00b7 Assist with identifying areas where new and cost-effective techniques can be applied.\n\n\u00b7 Explore opportunities for value-added products and services.\n\n\u00b7 Maintain customer visibility through active participation in professional society activities and calls for papers.\n\n\u00b7 Participate in external technical societies and communities.\n\n\u00b7 Contribute, write and review technical publications.\n\n\u00b7 Mentor junior staff.\n\n\u00b7 Candidates must have the legal right to work in the US without visa sponsorship.\n\nSLB offers competitive compensation and benefits programs which include variable pay, health care coverage, retirement plan, protection coverage, time off and leave programs, and training and development opportunities.\n\n\u00b7 BSc in Geophysics. Alternative acceptable disciplines in conjunction with work experience would include Physics, Geology or Engineering.\n\n\u00b7 0-3 years of Geophysics experience with minimum 1+ years of Full Wave Inversion (FWI) experience.\n\n\u00b7 Exposure to programming and software development for seismic data imaging will be considered a positive addition.\n\n\u00b7 English language fluency with the capability to communicate verbally and in writing.\n\n\u00b7 Excellent presentation skills.\n
