Apply engineering knowledge and experience to R&D and manufacturing glass products and processes
Evaluate technical feasibility of existing processes to meet the manufacturing requirements of new automotive programs
Support the design and implementation of new and existing processes to improve process capability and product quality/performance
Support implementation of R&D projects into global manufacturing facilities
Collaborate closely with manufacturing, and other internal departments, to identify process improvement opportunities
Conduct trials and analyze research data to develop new or improved products and processes
Maintain accurate and detailed records (laboratory notebook and documents)
Prepare presentations and reports, and communicate test results of research activities to management
Provide technical input to the design and installation of process tooling to conduct testing and development activities
Maintain and plan preventative maintenance on the R&D and development center process equipment
Troubleshoot issues with R&D and development center equipment and processes
Conduct or participate in risk assessments on new and modified equipment
Able to travel domestically and internationally to R&D centers, manufacturing plants, supplier, and customer locations
Adherence to the NSG/Pilkington safety standards

Other duties as assigned by manager
Scope:
Participates in, and supports, global R&D development projects
Partners with manufacturing, as required, to provide technical support for automotive glass production.

Qualifications Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, glass related field, or equivalent experience
Engineering knowledge of glass
2-5 years of experience working with glass manufacturing and/or development engineering
Demonstrated knowledge of problem-solving techniques
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
