Job Description - Global Senior Designer, Kids

Position Overview 

The Senior Global Designer is responsible for leading the creative direction, design strategy, and product development process across all brands and product categories. This role oversees the conception, design, and execution of innovative, market-right products that reflect brand identity, deliver commercial results, and meet quality and margin targets.

The Senior Global Designer will manage and mentor a global design team, partner closely with cross-functional departments—including Merchandising, Product Development, Sourcing, and Production—and ensure that all collections are delivered on time, on brand, and aligned with business goals.

Responsibilities

Creative Leadership & Strategy

  • Define and execute the overall design vision and seasonal direction for all product categories.
  • Translate brand strategy into cohesive product concepts, color palettes, and trend direction.
  • Oversee the design process from concept through final prototype, ensuring creativity aligns with business and margin goals.
  • Lead the creation of line plans and product assortments that support brand and financial objectives.

Team Management & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of designers, technical designers, and freelancers across global offices.
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performance team culture.
  • Evaluate team structure and external resources to ensure efficiency and quality in design execution.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Product Development, Merchandising, Sourcing, and Production to ensure design feasibility and cost alignment.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Sales to align design concepts with go-to-market strategies and customer needs.
  • Build strong relationships with material vendors, factories, and sourcing partners to drive innovation and value.

Market & Trend Research

  • Stay ahead of consumer, fashion, and product trends; translate insights into new product opportunities.
  • Develop and present seasonal mood boards, trend stories, and color direction.
  • Continuously benchmark competitive brands and market offerings.

Product Execution & Commercialization

  • Ensure timely development of prototypes and sample packages to support sales timelines.
  • Review materials, construction, and fit for both aesthetic and technical integrity.
  • Oversee costing alignment by collaborating with sourcing teams to meet profitability goals.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in apparel design, product development, or merchandising, including management of design teams.
  • Proven success developing branded and private label product lines.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication, construction, and product lifecycle from concept to production.
  • Experience working directly with global sourcing and factory partners.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  • This a hybrid role, with 4 days in our Secaucus, NJ office 

 

PAY RATE: $110,000/yr-$130,000/yr
