Working as part of this dynamic team, you will helpâ¯ensureâ¯that the products being developedâ¯and producedâ¯are safe, compliant, risk-managed, and trusted.â¯â¯You will also playâ¯an important roleâ¯internally and externallyâ¯helping developâ¯and deliverâ¯newâ¯approachesâ¯to assess theâ¯safety andâ¯sustainabilityâ¯of products thatâ¯utilizeâ¯recycled raw materials.â¯â¯â¯
The Kevlar® business offers a variety of products in different applications including but not limited to life protection, aerospace and automotive markets.â¯â¯â¯
In this role, you will beâ¯viewed as a thought partner by the team and counterpartsâ¯across Arclinâ¯as it relates toâ¯PS&R,â¯and work with regional team members to ensure compliance. Responsibilitiesâ¯
· Serve as product stewardshipâ¯subject matter expertâ¯andâ¯adviseâ¯managementâ¯toâ¯implement, execute, and deliver on new product developmentâ¯and commercialization.â¯
· PS&Râ¯consultation forâ¯new product application, marketâ¯developmentâ¯opportunitiesâ¯and supply chain, includingâ¯vetting withâ¯operations,â¯supply chain,â¯marketing,â¯contract manufacturing, quality, EHS,â¯and technologyâ¯functional experts.â¯
· Lead product risk characterization andâ¯review efforts. This includesâ¯understandingâ¯productâ¯regulations, productâ¯trail, productâ¯hazards,â¯exposuresâ¯andâ¯ultimatelyâ¯assessingâ¯the riskâ¯toâ¯developâ¯responsible product safety guidance, working with toxicology and risk assessment experts.â¯
· Obtain relevant productâ¯documentation and be the owner ofâ¯Kevlar®â¯Product Stewardship Management System toâ¯maintainâ¯certification under Responsible® Care following the Product Safety Codes of Practice.â¯
· Develop andâ¯review product literature,â¯messaging,â¯providing product safety, product stewardship,â¯and sustainability guidanceâ¯forâ¯external and internal documents.â¯â¯
· Support product stewardship and regulatory compliance needs ofâ¯Kevlar®â¯productsâ¯includingâ¯byâ¯managingâ¯product compositions,â¯raw material supplier information, Safety Data Sheetsâ¯and Article Information Sheets,â¯andâ¯product labels.â¯â¯
· Monitorâ¯trendsâ¯and proactivelyâ¯plan actions to meet future regulations, especially in key geographies and customer segments.â¯
· Collaborate with product management,â¯andâ¯marketing, and sales account leadersâ¯to respond toâ¯customer inquiries on product safety, compliance,â¯transparency,â¯and sustainability.â¯â¯
· Outreach,â¯education,â¯and trainingâ¯of stakeholders within the Kevlar® businessâ¯â¯
Travel: Upâ¯toâ¯25%.â¯â¯
Qualificationsâ¯
· BS or MS degree inâ¯Chemistry, Toxicology, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering,â¯Sustainability, or related scientific field.â¯â¯
· 5-10 years ofâ¯workâ¯experienceâ¯inâ¯PS&Râ¯field.â¯
· Previousâ¯work experience providingâ¯PS&Râ¯compliance supportâ¯andâ¯product certifications,â¯with the ability to analyze environmental impacts.â¯â¯
· Risk management understanding: ability toâ¯utilizeâ¯established PS&R guidelines;â¯adapt them to new situations (takingâ¯theoreticalâ¯toâ¯practicalâ¯use);â¯or
create newâ¯PS&R frameworks,â¯standardizedâ¯processes,â¯and toolsâ¯forâ¯implementation.â¯
· Ability toâ¯aggregate and synthesizeâ¯large amountsâ¯of data fromâ¯globalâ¯cross-functional team.â¯
· Ability to learn and become well-versed in multiple marketsâ¯& technologiesâ¯in parallel.â¯â¯
· Customer-oriented, with strong attention to detail.â¯
· Demonstrated project management experience.â¯
· Strongâ¯interpersonal,â¯networking skills,â¯andâ¯written and oralâ¯communicationsâ¯skills.â¯
· Demonstrated ability toâ¯deliver on commitments, yetâ¯agility to reprioritize.â¯
· Fluency in the English language.â¯â¯â¯
Preferred Qualificationsâ¯
· A strong external network inâ¯product stewardship and chemistry.â¯
· Product development and commercialization experience.â¯
· Some manufacturing knowledge and exposure, such as working with quality, EHS, and manufacturingâ¯technologists in integrated operations.â¯
· Experience withâ¯product lifeâ¯cycleâ¯assessments, environmental product declarations, and otherâ¯environmental impact andâ¯sustainability validation methodologiesâ¯and certifications.â¯â¯
Locationâ¯
· North America, preferably on the east coast.
