JOB SUMMARY
The Inside Sales Representative, Government & Commercial, is a proactive sales position responsible for developing new business, growing assigned accounts, and identifying opportunities across commercial and government markets. The position serves as an entry point into Sellmark's professional sales career path, with an additional focus on developing federal, state, and local government opportunities. Representatives will learn and demonstrate the fundamentals of professional selling while developing knowledge of government purchasing processes, bid opportunities, and purchasing cooperatives. Success in this role requires consistent prospecting, customer engagement, opportunity development, follow-up, and the ability to convert productive sales activity into measurable business results.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS
- Prospect and develop new commercial and government customers.
- Grow assigned accounts and identify additional sales opportunities.
- Consistently contact customers and prospects by phone, email, and other approved channels.
- Qualify sales opportunities and maintain an active sales pipeline.
- Monitor federal, state, and local bid sites, purchasing cooperatives, and other government procurement channels for applicable opportunities.
- Assist with preparing, submitting, and tracking government bids, quotes, and purchasing opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of government submissions, opportunities, and outcomes.
- Develop productive relationships with commercial customers, government agencies, purchasing contacts, and other decision-makers.
- Generate profitable revenue while working within established pricing and margin requirements.
- Maintain strong product and market knowledge to effectively communicate product features, benefits, pricing, and applications.
- Maintain accurate and current customer, opportunity, and activity information in the CRM.
- Monitor government purchasing activity and provide useful market and competitive intelligence.
- Attend trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events as needed to develop new business opportunities.
- Demonstrate readiness for increased account, territory, and sales responsibility.
Perform additional duties as needed to support the Sales Department's effective operation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Entry-level opportunity; prior professional sales experience is not required. We are looking for candidates with the motivation, aptitude, and willingness to learn and develop a career in sales.

Experience or interest in government sales, public-sector procurement, hunting, shooting, optics, outdoor recreation, or related markets is helpful but not required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- May be required to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Occasional bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and operating office machinery and motor vehicles.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Primarily office-based with exposure to outdoor conditions and travel requirements.
WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS
- This is a full-time, primarily in-office professional sales position based at Sellmark's Mansfield headquarters.
- Representatives must maintain regular availability during Sellmark's normal business operations while recognizing that customer needs, government opportunities, trade shows, travel, training, and other business opportunities may occasionally require additional flexibility.
- Employees must accurately record all hours worked and follow applicable Sellmark timekeeping and overtime procedures.
