Job Description - Guest Services Manager

No two days in hotel operations are exactly the same, and as Guest Services Manager, you're often at the center of it all. You may start your day helping your front desk team manage a busy check-in period, welcoming guests, or resolving a guest concern. Later, you could be coordinating a banquet setup, preparing meeting spaces for an upcoming event, or working alongside your team to ensure everything is ready for the next group of guests.

As Guest Services Manager, you'll oversee front desk operations, guest services, and banquet setup and breakdown, helping ensure the hotel runs smoothly and every guest feels welcome. You'll lead and develop your team, maintain high service standards, and work closely with other departments to keep daily operations on track. This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll balance guest needs, team performance, and the many moving parts of a busy hotel. This position requires evening and weekend availability.

At Newport Hospitality Group, Living Hospitality means leading by example, supporting your team, and creating positive experiences that make guests want to return.

What You'll Own

As Guest Services Manager, you'll help lead hotel operations, including:

  • Front Desk Operations: Oversee check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and daily front desk activities while maintaining brand and service standards.

  • Team Leadership: Train, schedule, coach, and support front desk associates while creating a positive, accountable, and guest-focused work environment.

  • Guest Experience: Respond to guest requests, resolve concerns, and ensure guests receive friendly, professional, and timely service.

  • Banquet & Meeting Spaces: Coordinate and assist with the setup and breakdown of meeting and banquet rooms, including tables, chairs, equipment, and room arrangements.

  • Department Coordination: Work closely with Housekeeping, Maintenance, Sales, and Food & Beverage to ensure guest needs, room readiness, and event requirements are addressed.

  • Hands-On Support: Step in to assist with front desk duties, guest services, banquet functions, and other operational needs as business demands.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and knows how to lead a team while keeping guests at the center of everything they do.

  • At least 2 years of hotel front office experience, with previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with hotel property management systems, reservation platforms, Microsoft Office, and Quore preferred.

  • Ability to lead by example, manage competing priorities, and make sound decisions independently.

  • A hands-on leadership style with a willingness to assist wherever needed.

  • Ability to perform banquet setup tasks, including moving tables, chairs, and equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Flexibility to work varying schedules based on hotel business needs.
