Honeywell's Value Engineering (VE) and Component Engineering (CE) Center of Excellence (COE) is a dynamic collective of professionals dedicated to refining product development through innovative engineering and strategic component selection. Working in tandem with GBE's Engineering and Procurement teams, the VE/CE COE is a global entity tasked with the critical mission of enhancing product margins and driving productivity, thereby securing Honeywell's competitive edge in the global market. Our mandate spans across all Strategic Business Groups (SBGs), with the exception of AERO, ensuring that value engineering and component engineering principles are consistently applied to deliver tangible savings and superior products. We are currently looking for an Hardware Engineer II to work on developing products using core HW and Electrical and Electronic engineering skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work in a global team with responsibilities and ownership for Electrical design in Value Engineering (VE) and Component Engineering (CE). 
• Design & development experience in Field Instruments like Industrial Pressure Transmitters, Temperature transmitters, Gas Detection Instruments, Industrial Measuring & Control Instruments like Flame detectors, Flow Sensors, Thermal sensors etc.
• The responsibilities include schematic development, circuit analysis, component selection, detailed design, verification testing, arriving inference from the test results and interfacing with cross functional/support teams (such as mechanical, manufacturing process, simulation, drafting, ECAD, evaluation, marketing, supply chain and external test labs).
• The candidate will be working along with various teams such as design, simulation, drafting, evaluation, manufacturing, marketing, supply chain etc. 
• Additional responsibilities include technical report generation, documentation, and progress reporting.
• It is also expected that the candidate would develop technical expertise in the product lines quickly to develop VE/CE ideas.
• Candidate is expected to have good knowledge in Electronics design with the ability to use this knowledge on VE/CE ideation. 
• He / She needs to have proven record of design delivery in a New Product Introduction (NPI) team for at least 5-8 yrs. 

YOU MUST HAVE:       

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
• 6+ years of experience in developing Electrical / Hardware design with:
  • Design & development experience in Field Instruments like Industrial Pressure Transmitters, Temperature transmitters, Gas Detection Instruments, Industrial Measuring & Control Instruments like Flame detectors, Flow Sensors, Thermal sensors etc.
  • Hands on experience with various serial communication protocols such as MODBUS and PROFIBUS (used by Honeywell) or UART, SPI and I2C. 
  • Analog and Digital Electronics design.
  • Knowledge of sensors, instrumentation & signal conditioning electronics.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Micro-controller interfacing and Analog to Digital data conversion, designing with opamps, transistors, MOSFET, linear & switching regulators, current output (4-20mA) circuits. 
  • Knowledge of designing circuits with EMI, EMC regulations, Pre & Post Compliance Testing.
  • Experience in PCB schematics & exposure to layout design in (ORCAD/Mentor Graphics).

• Advanced degrees in Electronic Engineering
• Experience in Value engineering and component engineering is preferred. 
• Knowledge on Value engineering methodologies. Alternate way of achieving the same performance with low cost. 
• Knowledge of should costing.
• Familiar with Value engineering & component engineering
• Knowledge of the latest technologies & low-cost alternate design/technology are preferred.
• Should have strong analytical and communication skills.
• Hands on experience with error budgeting of electronic circuits.
• Conceptualize the product and translate the requirements into CTQs for design.
• Good knowledge on Design for Manufacturability, assembly & testing expertise. 
• Understanding of product certification requirements.
• Exposure to handling engineering change request and engineering change order. 
• Demonstrates accountability (collaborating with others) for the design / implementation/ delivery of subsystem/product.
• Good Business Communication skills: Interacts with Partners at global locations, local team members & management stakeholders and customers for capturing requirements.
• Works with all the stakeholders to ensure that technical objectives are met with the given project/program constraints. 
• Active participation in the project planning/execution phases for technical risk management.
• Understanding product certification requirements like CSA, ATEX, SIL, FM is added advantage
