POSITION TITLE:                          Engineering Technician   Level II - HVAC

DEPARTMENT:                                Engineering                           

GRADE/FLSA STATUS:               H15 – Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO:                                  Building Systems Supervisor

BADGE TYPE/COLOR:                 Key--Blue

SUPERVISES:                                    N/A

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on mechanical and HVAC  equipment including, boilers, heat exchangers, pumps, piping systems, air handlers, balers, compactors and other components. 

                                                                              

JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Endorse the business objectives, ethics and values of Caesars Entertainment in accordance with the Code of Commitment and Mission, Vision and Values   

  2. Perform maintenance and repairs on HVAC and refrigeration equipment and related systems

  3. Maintain records of maintenance and repairs using computerized maintenance programs

  4. Install new equipment and services as required 

  5.  Assist in fabrication of systems and components 

  6. Weld, solder and braze, as required 

  7. Assist with maintenance, repairs and operation of the Casino and Hotel facilities, building systems and equipment

  8. Abide by safety policies and report safety hazards to department manager

  9. Participative member of the team by volunteering and being involved in projects, committees, and task forces by providing input and suggestions

  10. Respond to emergency and critical situations

  11. Troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic control systems

  12. Adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies/procedures in an ethical manner

  13.     

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED required 

  1. Associates Degree (Technical) or Trade Diploma in HVAC from an accredited educational institution required or four years mechanical maintenance experience performing PM’s, troubleshooting and repairs in a commercial, industrial or institutional facility on pumps, piping systems, air handlers, boilers, balers, etc. or military experience as AC/HVAC technician required

  2. Three years’ experience as a technician, mechanic or journeyman required

  3. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and meet company driver eligibility requirements, including fewer than three moving violations and fewer than three accidents within the past three years, and no disqualifying driving-related incidents within the past three years, including suspension of driving privileges, DUI/DWI convictions, reckless driving convictions, two or more speeding violations exceeding 25 mph over the posted speed limit, or any citation for unlawful cell phone use while operating a vehicle
  4. Must demonstrate the following essential knowledge and skills:

  5. Knowledgeable and competent with Building Automation Systems (BAS)

  6. Understanding of electrical distribution systems, three phase and single phase, up to 600 volts

  7.  Strong knowledge of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning, (HVAC), operation to include basic theory of operation and control systems and capability of maintaining plant operations

  8. Understanding of electrical distribution systems, three phase and single phase, up to 600 volts

  9. Ability to use test equipment including, but not limited to, multi-meters, temperature probes, and circuit tracers

  10. Ability to read and understand blueprints and diagrams

  11. Ability to use technical manuals to diagnose and repair equipment

  12. Neat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygiene

  13. Ability to work independently

  14. Documented teamwork behaviors and attitudes

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  1. Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations

  2. Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino and surrounding property

  3. Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items

  4. Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs

  5. Must possess coordination and dexterity to work with hand and power tools

  6. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues

  7. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English 

  8. Must be able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations

  9. Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, and air quality including secondhand smoke
  10. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays

  11.
