• Maintain a visible, on-the-floor presence engaging directly with shop teams


• Lead behavior-based safety initiatives that drive accountability at all levels

Compliance & Risk Management

• Develop, implement, and enforce safety programs including:
  
  
  
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
  
  
  • Confined Space
  
  
  • Fall Protection
  
  
  • PPE compliance
  
  
  
  


• Ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and local safety regulations

Training & Workforce Development

• Partner with Operations and the Training Specialist to integrate safety into daily workflows


• Deliver hands-on training for fabrication teams


• Support onboarding and ongoing safety education initiatives

Incident Prevention & Investigation

• Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis


• Track and report key safety metrics (TRIR, near misses, leading indicators)


• Identify trends and implement corrective actions

Continuous Improvement

• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections


• Improve processes related to:
  
  
  
  • Rigging and crane operations
  
  
  • Welding and fabrication safety
  
  
  • Material handling and heavy equipment use
  
  
  
  

What You Bring

Experience

• 5+ years of safety experience in a manufacturing, heavy industry or industrial construction environment required: Structural steel fabrication highly preferred


• Proven ability to work hands-on in a shop environment

Technical Knowledge

• Strong understanding of:
  
  
  
  • Welding processes (FCAW, GMAW, SMAW preferred)
  
  
  • Overhead cranes, rigging, and material handling
  
  
  • Heavy plate fabrication and industrial equipment
  
  
  
  

Certifications

Required:

• OSHA 30 (General Industry or Construction)

Preferred:

• CHST or ASP


• First Aid / CPR / AED


• Fall Protection Competent Person


• Confined Space Training


• LOTO Certification
